Terms & Conditions

1. Purpose of Foster Care Table Talk

Foster Care Table Talk (β€œthe Podcast,” β€œthe Webinar,” β€œthe Platform”) exists to share lived experiences, insights, and real‑life perspectives from host Stephanie, a foster parent from 2015–2024. The goal is to support families navigating the foster care system, highlight systemic challenges, and encourage meaningful improvements within child welfare.

2. Age Requirement

This platform is intended for adults age 18 and older. The topics discussedβ€”foster care, trauma, child welfare, and family systemsβ€”are sensitive and require mature understanding. Minors should not engage with the platform without the supervision of a parent or legal guardian.

3. Protection of Children’s Privacy

Foster Care Table Talk is committed to protecting the privacy, dignity, and safety of all children connected to the foster care system. To comply with ethical standards and confidentiality laws:

  • No identifying information about children may be shared.

  • This includes names, photos, videos, case numbers, locations, schools, medical details, or any information that could reveal a child’s identity.

  • Users must not disclose details about active cases, investigations, or court proceedings involving minors.

  • Any content violating a child’s privacy may be removed immediately.

All stories shared by the host are generalized, anonymized, or altered to protect minors and comply with foster care confidentiality requirements.

4. No Professional Advice

All content shared through Foster Care Table Talkβ€”including podcast episodes, webinars, videos, posts, discussions, and related materialsβ€”is based solely on personal experience. The platform does not provide:

  • Legal advice

  • Medical advice

  • Psychiatric or therapeutic advice

  • Professional social work guidance

  • Case management services

Users should seek qualified professionals for legal, medical, mental health, or case‑specific guidance.

5. Personal Experience Disclaimer

The host’s experiences reflect her journey as a foster parent and may not represent every agency, county, or state. Policies and outcomes vary widely. Nothing shared should be interpreted as guaranteed results, official policy, or universal practice.

6. Foster Care Navigation System

The Foster Care Navigation System was created from lived experience to help families better understand and move through the foster care process. It is not an official government program and does not replace DFCS, CPS, caseworkers, attorneys, or court‑ordered services.

7. Not a Trauma‑Dumping Platform

Foster Care Table Talk is not a space for trauma dumping. While lived experiences matter, this platform focuses on constructive, solution‑driven conversation. The mission is to:

  • Understand what went wrong within the child welfare system

  • Identify gaps, barriers, and breakdowns

  • Explore what could make the system better

  • Encourage reform that supports children, parents, and caregivers

Stories and insights should be shared with the intention of learning, improving, and advocating for changeβ€”not unloading trauma in ways that may harm others or violate privacy.

Users engaging with the podcast, webinar, comments, chats, or community spaces agree to:

  • Be respectful

  • Avoid sharing confidential case details

  • Protect the privacy of children, families, and foster parents

  • Not post harmful, abusive, or defamatory content

The platform reserves the right to remove comments or block users who violate community guidelines.
